In Korea, there are many Korean bbq restaurant available but we find Palsaik Samgyupsal is quite unique. Instead of one flavor, they served 8 different flavours of bbq pork. We visited this bbq restaurant in Sinchon after visiting Gyeongbokgung palace.
How to go there:
Visitors need to take the train to Sinchon Station and take exit 6. Continue to walk straight until you see 7-11 and turn left. Please look out for KIA Motors building on your right side and you will see Palsaik at the right bottom corner of the opposite building.
Since we arrived around 2pm, there was not many visitors inside the restaurant. On one corner, there is also a counter showing how many days this restaurant had opened. Palsaik Samgyupsal also provided photo property like funny hat, funny headband, funny glasses etc for visitors to take photo. Our daughters really liked it and they straight away using it and asking us to take their picture.
We ordered set of 8 flavors bbq pork for out lunch. 8 flavors of bbq pork are: Ginseng, Wine, Pine leaves, Garlic, Herb, Curry, Miso Paste and Spicy flavor. Besides 8 flavors bbq pork, Palsaik Samgyupsal also provided a lot of side dish (banchan) and soup stew.
In Palsaik Syamgupsal, there will be a server who will help you to prepare the meat. At the same time, he will also turn on the fire below the soup stew. When the meat is fully cooked, the soup stew will also be ready as well. The server will cook the pork meat in 2 batches – 4 flavors at one go. After visitors finished eating the first batch, the server will clean the pan and cook the remaining 4 flavors.
The pork meat is so tender and since most of the flavor are not spicy, my daughters can eat the pork meat except the Hot/spicy one. Every flavor has unique taste and you need to eat it wrapped inside perilla leaves together with rice, chili and rice.
Overall, the bbq is very nice and the price is also cheap (30,000 KRW per set). Side dish and rice are provided for free. You just need to tell the server if you need to top up the rice or the side dish. We will definitely come back to this restaurant when we visit Seoul next time.
